This is my top selection at the moment. They are expensive but it has same firmware design as the NAS.
Not all good in terms of if you attempt to run IPv6 it might not work. and the Mesh system could mess up Time Machine.
A better idea might be to use a Synology NAS.
Since it is plugged into the router by ethernet and dedicated NAS rather than shared USB. it is at least twice the speed and will perform very well as general file server.
I also tested high end Asus routers. and the TM backup worked fine for about 2months before breaking. it did this regularly over a year of testing. My take away was Time Machine is pretty broken in latest Mac OS so be careful.
So far Synology NAS has been the best for a few of us who have done long term testing.
